We offer a variety of recreational programming through community education in the summer and throughout the school year at NLS!

We offer baseball through community education and recreation in the summer months!

At NLS we offer basketball programs throughout the school year and the summer!

Behind the Wheel Instruction for obtaining your Driver’s License If you took the driver's ed classroom thru New London-Spicer you are automatically registered for behind the wheel instruction. If you did not take the classroom portion through NL-S you must register to be on the call list. Contact the Community Ed Office at 320-354-1406 to find out what is needed to register. Once you register we will call close to your 16th birthday to complete this portion of training before your driving test. Students who take the Classroom at NLS (automatically registered) **Registration Fee: $20 (included in classroom fee) with balance of $260 when instruction starts. Students with certificate of completion/Non NLS Classroom Students **Non NLS Classroom Students Registration Fee: $50 with balance of $300 due when instruction starts. **Registration Fees are Non-Refundable We encourage students to drive several hours per week with their parents to make them more comfortable behind the wheel.

ECFE stands for Early Childhood Family Education. Our program, offered by the Minnesota public school districts, serves families with children from birth to five years of age. Our mission is to enhance the ability of all parents and other family members to provide the best possible environment for their child’s learning and growth. At ECFE, you can expect to meet caring instructors whose sole job is to support you in your role as a parent and as your child’s first teacher. You will also meet other parents of toddlers and preschoolers who share some of the very same joys and frustrations of parenting as you do.

Drivers Education, both classroom and behind the wheel are conducted through the Community Education/Youth Service Office at NLS.

Cub Kids serves children ages 3–5 years old and aims to prepare them for Kindergarten. Cub Kids is an inclusion-based preschool program. Cub Kids is a fee-based preschool which is open from 8:15am - 3:00pm on school days following the New London-Spicer district calendar*. Cub Kids is billed monthly (on the 15th of the month). Families do have the option to pre-pay prior to being invoiced, if they do not want to commit to one large monthly payment. Before and After school care is available by registering for our Lil' PALS program. Hours for our Lil' PALS program Before school is 7:30-8:15am and costs $4/day. The After school hours for Lil' PALS is 3:00-5:30pm and costs $7/day. The mission of the Cub Kids program is to ensure that no child starts behind; and that every child is ready to enter Kindergarten as a confident and capable student. Our goals are to teach children in a developmentally appropriate environment that encourages growth for children socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. We believe that all children deserve a safe place to grow to their fullest potential. Our staff members strive to provide program activities that are based on the uniqueness within each group of children. *Cub Kids follows the NLS district calendar, with the exception of Election Day. There is no school for Cub Kids on this day.

Adult Enrichment classes at NLS include, but are not limited to, arts, theatre, cooking, CPR/First Aid/AED training and bus trips!

NLS Enrichment classes are offered throughout the year for kids K-12th grade.

At NLS we offer football camps in the summer and we have programming for 1st-6th graders in the summer!

At NLS we offer gymnastics courses for beginner, intermediate and advanced athletes throughout the school year and the summer!

Lil' PALS Summer Preschool Child Care Summer Hours: 7:30am -5:30pm Phone 320-354-2252 ext. 2465 Lil' PALS summer care is open to all children who were registered at Cub Kids Preschool in the 2024-2025 school year! Looking for a safe and structured environment for your child this summer? Lil' PALS is the place to be! We have daily activities and weekly themes planned for our summer kiddos! We incorporate STEAM, gross and fine motor skills, arts and crafts, gym and outside time into each daily schedule! Activities are geared to excite and extend your child's interest and learning development, while providing a safe and fun environment. Snacks are included in the daily routine. We offer a morning and afternoon snack! Lil' PALS kids are required to bring their own lunch in summer. Lil' PALS does not transport kids to any off-site activities. Lil' PALS will transport if an activity is in the same building or on the same grounds as Lil' PALS and with the appropriate request, prior to any registration deadlines. Lil' PALS Summer Rates are: $45 per day, per child. The weekly rate is $180 for Each Full Time Child. Please note: You may make changes to your schedule throughout the month. All changes to a calendar will need to be made 72 hours prior to the day you are requesting care, in order to avoid extra Lil' PALS fees. Please notify the Lil' PALS line directly (320-354-2252x 2465) with any changes you make online or if your child is sick.
