Behind the Wheel Instruction for obtaining your Driver’s LicenseIf you took the driver's ed classroom thru New London-Spicer you are automatically registered for behind the wheel instruction.If you did not take the classroom portion through NL-S you must register to be on the call list. Contact the Community Ed Office at 320-354-1406 to find out what is needed to register. Once you register we will call close to your 16th birthday to complete this portion of training before your driving test. Students who take the Classroom at NLS (automatically registered) **Prior to October 1, 2025 Registration Fee: $20 (included in classroom fee) with balance of $260 prior to instruction starting. **After October 1, 2025 Registration Fee: $100 (included in classroom fee) with balance of $180 prior to instruction starting. Students with certificate of completion/Non NLS Classroom Students **Non NLS Classroom Students Registration Fee: $120 with balance of $230 due when instruction starts. **Registration Fees are Non-Refundable We encourage students to drive several hours per week with their parents to make them morecomfortable behind the wheel.

Drivers Education, both classroom and behind the wheel are conducted through the Community Education/Youth Service Office at NLS.

Cub Kids serves children ages 3–5 years old and aims to prepare them for Kindergarten. Cub Kids is an inclusion-based preschool program. Cub Kids is a fee-based preschool which is open from 8:15am - 3:00pm on school days following the New London-Spicer district calendar*. Cub Kids is billed monthly (on the 15th of the month). Families do have the option to pre-pay prior to being invoiced, if they do not want to commit to one large monthly payment. Before and After school care is available by registering for our Lil' PALS program. Hours for our Lil' PALS program Before school is 7:30-8:15am and costs $4/day. The After school hours for Lil' PALS is 3:00-5:30pm and costs $7/day. The mission of the Cub Kids program is to ensure that no child starts behind; and that every child is ready to enter Kindergarten as a confident and capable student. Our goals are to teach children in a developmentally appropriate environment that encourages growth for children socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. We believe that all children deserve a safe place to grow to their fullest potential. Our staff members strive to provide program activities that are based on the uniqueness within each group of children. *Cub Kids follows the NLS district calendar, with the exception of Election Day. There is no school for Cub Kids on this day.

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is for families with children birth-five years. ECFE offers: · A place for parents and children to spend time together · A place for children to interact with other children · Age-appropriate activities taught by early childhood teachers · Parent discussion groups led by licensed parent educators · Opportunities to build friendships – for children and for parents · Special family events & field trips · Family resources · Home Visits · Scholarships – no one is turned away for inability to pay!

The Early Childhood Education Events proceeds go to Early Childhood scholarships helping NLS students attend preschool.

Adult Enrichment classes at NLS include, but are not limited to, arts, theatre, cooking, CPR/First Aid/AED training and bus trips!

NLS Enrichment classes are offered throughout the year for kids K-12th grade.

At NLS we offer football camps in the summer and we have programming for 1st-6th graders in the summer!

Lil' PALS Before and After School Preschool Child Care Program Before School Hours: 7:30am-8:15am After School Hours: 2:45pm-5:30pm Phone 320-354-2252 ext. 2465 Lil' PALS Before and After School care is open to all children (on the days they attend Cub Kids Preschool) who are currently registered at Cub Kids Preschool in the 2025-2026 school year! Looking for a safe and structured environment for your child this school year? Lil' PALS is the place to be! We have daily activities planned for our school year kiddos! We incorporate STEAM, gross and fine motor skills, arts and crafts, gym and outside time into each daily schedule! Activities are geared to excite and extend your child's interest and learning development, while providing a safe and fun environment. Snacks are included in the daily routine at After School programming. All Before School kiddos are brought to breakfast after our morning programming concludes. Breakfast for all registered Cub Kids Preschool kids is served at 8:15am. Lil' PALS Before School Rates are: $4 per day, per child. Lil' PALS After School Rates are: $7 per day, per child. Please note: You may make changes to your schedule throughout the month. All changes to a calendar will need to be made 72 hours before the day you are requesting, in order to avoid extra Lil' PALS fees. An example includes: If you want programming on Friday at 7:30am, you will need to add that day in your account by Tuesday at 7:30am to avoid the drop in fees. Drop-ins during the school year are $8 in the morning and $10 in the afternoon.
