Behind the Wheel Instruction for obtaining your Driver’s LicenseIf you took the driver's ed classroom thru New London-Spicer you are automatically registered for behind the wheel instruction.If you did not take the classroom portion through NL-S you must register to be on the call list. Contact the Community Ed Office at 320-354-1406 to find out what is needed to register. Once you register we will call close to your 16th birthday to complete this portion of training before your driving test. Students who take the Classroom at NLS (automatically registered) **Prior to October 1, 2025 Registration Fee: $20 (included in classroom fee) with balance of $260 prior to instruction starting. **After October 1, 2025 Registration Fee: $100 (included in classroom fee) with balance of $180 prior to instruction starting. Students with certificate of completion/Non NLS Classroom Students - Unfortunately, we are no longer able to accommodate students who did not take the classroom training at NLS. **Registration Fees are Non-Refundable We encourage students to drive several hours per week with their parents to make them morecomfortable behind the wheel.

Drivers Education, both classroom and behind the wheel are conducted through the Community Education/Youth Service Office at NLS.

Cub Kids serves children ages 3–5 and offers a high-quality, inclusion-based preschool program designed to intentionally prepare every child for Kindergarten success. Cub Kids is a fee-based preschool program held from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on school days and follows the New London-Spicer School District calendar*. Tuition is billed monthly on the 15th, with the option for families to pre-pay if they prefer not to commit to a single larger monthly payment. To support families’ schedules, before- and after-school care is available through our Lil’ PALS program: Before School Care: 7:30–8:15 a.m. | $5/day After School Care: 3:00–5:30 p.m. | $8/day Our Mission The mission of the Cub Kids program is to invest early and intentionally in every child through exceptional teaching, inclusive practices, and a deep commitment to safety and care. Our program is led by MN licensed teachers who are READ Act certified, and supported by highly qualified paraprofessionals who meet the guidelines outlined by the MN Department of Education. All staff are trained in First Aid, AED, and CPR, ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment for every child. Through developmentally appropriate instruction, intentional daily practice, and individualized support, Cub Kids focuses on nurturing the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. We believe all children deserve a safe place to grow, be challenged, and thrive. By honoring the unique strengths and needs of each group of learners, we make it our personal mission that no child starts behind and that children enter Kindergarten confident, capable, curious, and exceptionally prepared to succeed. *Cub Kids follows the New London-Spicer School District calendar, with the exception of Election Day, when there is no preschool in session.

At NLS we offer both Driver's Training Classroom (For MN Drivers Permit/License) and Behind the Wheel Training throughout the school year and summer.

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is for families with children birth-five years. ECFE offers: · A place for parents and children to spend time together · A place for children to interact with other children · Age-appropriate activities taught by early childhood teachers · Parent discussion groups led by licensed parent educators · Opportunities to build friendships – for children and for parents · Special family events & field trips · Family resources · Home Visits · Scholarships – no one is turned away for inability to pay!

The Early Childhood Education Events proceeds go to Early Childhood scholarships helping NLS students attend preschool.

Adult Enrichment classes at NLS include, but are not limited to, arts, theatre, cooking, CPR/First Aid/AED training and bus trips!

NLS Enrichment classes are offered throughout the year for kids K-12th grade.

At NLS we offer football camps in the summer and we have programming for 1st-6th graders in the summer!

At NLS we offer gymnastics courses for beginner, intermediate and advanced athletes throughout the school year and the summer!

Lil' PALS Before and After School Preschool Child Care Program Before School Hours: 7:30am-8:15am After School Hours: 2:45pm-5:30pm Phone 320-354-2252 ext. 2465 Lil' PALS Before and After School care is open to all children (on the days they attend Cub Kids Preschool) who are currently registered at Cub Kids Preschool in the 2025-2026 school year! Looking for a safe and structured environment for your child this school year? Lil' PALS is the place to be! We have daily activities planned for our school year kiddos! We incorporate STEAM, gross and fine motor skills, arts and crafts, gym and outside time into each daily schedule! Activities are geared to excite and extend your child's interest and learning development, while providing a safe and fun environment. Snacks are included in the daily routine at After School programming. All Before School kiddos are brought to breakfast after our morning programming concludes. Breakfast for all registered Cub Kids Preschool kids is served at 8:15am. Lil' PALS Before School Rates are: $4 per day, per child. Lil' PALS After School Rates are: $7 per day, per child. Please note: You may make changes to your schedule throughout the month. All changes to a calendar will need to be made 72 hours before the day you are requesting, in order to avoid extra Lil' PALS fees. An example includes: If you want programming on Friday at 7:30am, you will need to add that day in your account by Tuesday at 7:30am to avoid the drop in fees. Drop-ins during the school year are $8 in the morning and $10 in the afternoon. Throughout the school year and summer, NLS partners with Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center to bring you exceptional offsite programming. Please note that transportation is not provided to PWELC in the summer and only to PWELC in the school year.
