6th Grade Track & Field Boys & GirlsAdditional Recreation CoursesCalling 6th grade boys and girls! NLS Track & Field invites you to join us this spring. 6th graders will practice 7 times and compete in at a home meet. Whether you intend to join our T&F program down the road or just looking for a way to get involved and build your fitness level and athleticism, we’d love to have you. Bowling Club (Grades K-4)Additional Recreation CoursesJoin us at Alley on Ash each month for some fun on the lanes. We will have a chance to bowl 2 games each time and have fun with our friends. Fee includes 2 games, shoe rental, a chaperone on site, a slice of pizza and juice. Parents pick up at 5pm at the bowling alley. Students should have a note to ride the shuttle bus #37 to the Alley on Ash. (First bus in line at Prairie Woods by the flag pole) Students will meet in the Prairie Woods Gym and then go to the bus.Fall 2025 -
Dance - NLS Blackcat Youth Fundraiser (Completing K-6th Grade)Additional Recreation CoursesJoin the New London-Spicer Varsity Blackcat Dance Team for 2 fun-filled afternoons learning a dance to be performed on Thursday, March 26th at 6:30pm in the High School Auxiliary Gym (Sloppy Joe Supper Night). To avoid distractions we please request no spectators during class time. K-4th grade students should ride the shuttle bus to the Middle School. Dance staff will meet the students at the bus and bring them to the Performing Arts Center. Middle School students can report directly to the Performing Arts Center Lobby. Please bring a snack for practices. Parents pick up after practice at the Performing Arts Center Main Entrance at 5pm. Dancers please Wildcat colors for the performance.Winter 2025-2026 -
Intro to Sideline/Competitive Cheerleading Camp (K-6th Grade)Additional Recreation CoursesJoin the high school cheer coaches and cheerleaders for 3 fun-filled afternoons learning a combination of sideline and competition cheer material. Practices will be held on Mon, Tues and Thurs after school until 5pm. They will perform a 2-3 minute routine at the late varsity basketball game on Friday, February 6th. Prairie Woods should have a note to ride the shuttle bus to the Middle School. Cheer staff will meet the students at the bus and bring them to the Middle School Commons Area (just inside the middle school entrance). Middle School students can report directly to the Middle School Commons Area after school. Students may be dispersed to different areas of the building for practice. Parents pick up at 5pm at the MAIN Middle School entrance (on the tennis court/playground side of the building). Students will be asked to wear Wildcat colors for the performance and arrive at 7 pm and report to the High School Cafeteria. Performance will be during halftime of the 7pm varsity basketball game on February 6th.Winter 2025-2026 -
Open Gym (Kids 2nd grade and under must be accompanied by a parent)Additional Recreation CoursesFamily Sundays ---Buy a family membership. The gym will be open for families, adults, and youth. Come shoot some hoops & be active. Kids 2nd Grade and under must be accompanied by a parent. Daily rate is $2 payable at door. Sometimes the gym is rented for an activity. Please check the class schedule before dropping off your child.Fall 2025
