All participants will learn the fundamentals of basketball and learn how to apply those fundamentals in scrimmage formats. The idea of this program is to introduce the youngest wildcats to the foundation of basketball and prepare them for our travel basketball programs (4th - 6th grade). Open Gym fall basketball will be supervised by parent (Jamie Thompson, Steve Vick or Tom Spears) at the High School Gym on Tuesday y mornings and Sunday evenings for open gym/shooting. Join us 6:15-7:30am on Tuesdays mornings and Sunday evenings from 8-9:30pm.

Behind the Wheel Instruction for obtaining your Driver’s LicenseIf you took the driver's ed classroom thru New London-Spicer you are automatically registered for behind the wheel instruction.Once registered we will call close to your 16th birthday to complete this portion of training before your driving test. Students who take the Classroom at NLS (automatically registered) **Prior to October 1, 2025 Registration Fee: $20 (included in classroom fee) with balance of $260 prior to instruction starting. **After October 1, 2025 Registration Fee: $100 (included in classroom fee) with balance of $180 prior to instruction starting. Students with certificate of completion/Non NLS Classroom Students - Unfortunately, we are no longer able to accommodate students who did not take the classroom training at NLS. **Registration Fees are Non-Refundable We encourage students to drive several hours per week with their parents to make them morecomfortable behind the wheel.

READY, AIM, LAUNCH!! Step into the world of ballistics and structural engineering in this high-energy, hands-on workshop. In CANDY CORN CATAPULTS, students become "Siege Engineers" as they design, build, and calibrate their very own desktop launchers. The mission? To successfully navigate the physics of flight and land a "harvest" of candy corn into a series of bubbling cauldrons. It's a race against gravity and a test of architectural strength!

Drivers Education, both classroom and behind the wheel are conducted through the Community Education/Youth Service Office at NLS.

In this class we will be learning how Cotton Candy is made by heating and spinning flavored sugar and Jolly Ranchers. We will also be playing games for fun prizes like a CARNIVAL and EVERY child will go home with Cotton Candy and Lots of Prizes. Come and have some fun with your friends and enjoy the CARNIVAL.

Cub Kids serves children ages 3–5 and offers a high-quality, inclusion-based preschool program designed to intentionally prepare every child for Kindergarten success. Cub Kids is a fee-based preschool program held from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on school days and follows the New London-Spicer School District calendar*. Tuition is billed monthly on the 15th, with the option for families to pre-pay if they prefer not to commit to a single larger monthly payment. To support families’ schedules, before- and after-school care is available through our Lil’ PALS program: Before School Care: 7:30–8:15 a.m. | $5/day *Drop in rate is: $8.00/day After School Care: 3:00–5:30 p.m. | $8/day *Drop in rate is: $11.00/day Our Mission The mission of the Cub Kids program is to invest early and intentionally in every child through exceptional teaching, inclusive practices, and a deep commitment to safety and care. Our program is led by MN licensed teachers who are READ Act certified, and supported by highly qualified paraprofessionals who meet the guidelines outlined by the MN Department of Education. All staff are trained in First Aid, AED, and CPR, ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment for every child. Through developmentally appropriate instruction, intentional daily practice, and individualized support, Cub Kids focuses on nurturing the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. We believe all children deserve a safe place to grow, be challenged, and thrive. By honoring the unique strengths and needs of each group of learners, we make it our personal mission that no child starts behind and that children enter Kindergarten confident, capable, curious, and exceptionally prepared to succeed. *Cub Kids follows the New London-Spicer School District calendar, with the exception of Election Day, when there is no preschool in session.
